Perimeter Intrusion Detection System
We do install two different kind perimeter systems, one from
Advanced Perimeter System (Scotland, UK) a computer controlled
system (using Mutltisys Security Management System) of which we
are distributors, the other one from Hammer (South Africa)
Multisys Security Management System
The system is based on a 1m high Electro-Fence system with
11(eleven) parallel grid like wires.
The system is controlled by the Multisys PC based Security
Management Systems. It uses a common protocol to control the APS
Electro Fence controllers which produces up to 9.9KV. A map of
the area will be displayed on the PC showing the location of all
the Electro-Fence zones. When an alarm is generated an icon will
flash on the screen showing the location of the alarmed zone.
The operator can acknowledge and reset the zone by simply
clicking on the icon.
The controllers will be wired back to an 8 zone alarm control
unit using twisted pair telephone cable and then the alarm
control unit wired back to the control room with RS485 Data
cable. The system allows an extra alarm control unit to provide
relay outputs in the control room for connection into the CCTV
system of which is fully synchronized with. It also can provide
as many outputs as required which can be connected into the
Access Control system but all outputs are normally closed dry
contacts.
To date this sophisticated system has only been installed for
the first time in UN-ICTR Arusha around the AICC perimeter. The
UN-ICTR management is proud of the system as it provides them
with the state of the art perimeter protection with maximum
safety. The system can be mounted on walled fence, chain link
fence or palisade fence. The picture below taken from UN-ICTR
site shows the system mounted on the chain link fence

The Hammer System
The system can be of from four grids like wires up to eight
depending on the level of protection required on the site in
question. It can be mounted on the walled fence, chain link
fence or a palisade fence. Depending on the requirements a siren
can be fitted which goes off when there is an intrusion on the
perimeter.
